What is that strange craft sitting in the river to the left of center in the photo on the left?  The photo on the right gives a closer view.

This photo was taken looking at the back of the craft, still the function is only a guess.

Appears to read COLLIER # 4

The poor quality photo above gives the impression that this craft is COLLIER # 4.

COLLIER # 4 is mentioned by JW in his journal with several entries, the first of which was January 16, 1919 when the craft has general repairs.

The next three entries tell a story:  On June 14, 1920 the COLLIER docks for 10 days of repairs. leaving on June 24,1920 she goes a short distance down river and is sunk, and on July 2, 1920 she is back at the Ways for repairs.

The final entries are on February 27, 1923 when she is sold and then on March 24, 1923 she might be in the process of being dismantled.
